A Double Championship of Francois Medori "Belgium Grand Prix 2025"

24-27 July 2025 at Eau d'Heure, Belgium

The WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2025, Thailand's premier professional sports tournament, kicked off its second round with a bang! The event, made possible by the support of the Thamanat Prompow Foundation, the Sports Authority of Thailand, the National Sports Development Fund, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Amazing Thailand), Freedom Racing, Jettribe Racing Red, Just Race Timing System, Ride House, Kawasaki, Domaine Des Lacs Des Lacs de l’eau d’Heure, and OR2, drew over 250 top riders from 36 countries across five continents to Lacs de l'Eau d'Heure in Wallonia, Belgium, from July 24-27, 2025.

Amidst the fierce competition, French rider #4 Francois Medori achieved a stunning double victory, securing championships in two major professional classes: PRO RUNABOUT GRAND PRIX and ENDURANCE OPEN. This marked a spectacular showing at the "Belgium Grand Prix 2025."

Endurance Open: The Ultimate Test of Grit
The ENDURANCE OPEN class, known for its grueling nature, had the highest number of competitors at the Belgium Grand Prix, with 32 riders from 17 nations. In the first moto, despite a slow start, the current World Cup champion, #4 Francois Medori, demonstrated incredible skill. He relentlessly chased down and overtook Thailand's #T951 Tapatarawat Joensonnusont to claim first place. Japan's #J87 Hajime Isahai followed in second, leaving the championship wide open for the final moto.

In the final moto, Medori made a strong comeback, taking the lead from the start and refusing to let anyone pass. However, with about 10 minutes left, an unexpected incident occurred when several riders, including #22 Anthony Radetic from the United States and #33 Filin Saly from Cambodia, fell into the water. Fearing a wider escalation, the race director made the decision to red-flag and stop the race. As the leader at the time of the stoppage, Francois Medori was declared the winner, completing a perfect game by winning every moto and securing the championship in the ENDURANCE OPEN class.

Pro Runabout Grand Prix: The Battle of the Titans
The PRO RUNABOUT GRAND PRIX class, featuring the world's fastest and most powerful runabouts, saw 14 riders from 7 countries compete. The favorites for the Belgium Grand Prix were the two Kuwaiti riders: #66 Mohammed Burbayea , a three-time World Series champion, and #38 Mohammad Albaz , a three-time World Cup champion.

However, in the first moto, a thrilling upset occurred. #5 Gyorgy Kasza of Hungary and #4 Francois Medori stole the show, relentlessly chasing the Kuwaiti duo before making a last-gasp pass on the final option buoy to finish first and second, respectively.

In the second moto, Medori, a longtime rival of the Kuwaiti pair, delivered a world-class performance. Despite a poor start that dropped him to fourth, he methodically worked his way back to the front, overtaking Mohammed Burbayea to win the moto and re-enter the championship hunt to the cheers of the French fans.

The third and final motos were a spectacular battle between Medori and Burbayea. Burbayea claimed victory in moto 3, with Medori right behind in second. In the final moto, however, Burbayea suffered a stroke of bad luck when his jet ski experienced a mechanical issue, allowing Gyorgy Kasza to take the win. Medori finished fourth, while Burbayea dropped to the back of the pack.

With a total of 209 points, #4 Francois Medori was crowned the champion in the PRO RUNABOUT GRAND PRIX class, completing his double-championship win at the "Belgium Grand Prix 2025."
