WGP#1 Oceania Continental Championship 2026 – Race Update

The WGP#1 Oceania Continental Championship 2026 is taking place at Broadwater Parklands, Gold Coast, Australia, hosted by AUSWCR. Today, 7 March 2026, featured the first two motos across nine race classes.

Among the four highlight classes, the current World Champion Mami Kaneko (Japan) delivered a dominant performance in the Pro Women Ski GP, winning both opening motos with aggressive and precise riding. She is closely followed by Lisa Caussin-Battaglia (Monaco) and Australia’s Taylor Porter, who are also in strong contention. The championship will be decided in two final motos tomorrow.

In the other three premier classes, only Moto 1 was completed today, with Moto 2 postponed to tomorrow.

The Moto 1 winners are:

   - Pro-Am Runabout 1100 Open:** Jai Hunter (Australia)
   - Pro Runabout GP:** Masamitsu Tamura (Japan)
   - Pro Ski GP:** Jayden Richardson (Australia)

Meanwhile, Tim O'Neil, Secretary of AUSWCR, stated:
> “Australian Watercross Racing is extremely happy to have WGP#1 involved with our event as it has raised the level to a high standard. The broadcast and commentary make this one of the most professionally run PWC race events ever run in Australia.”

This historic first Oceania Continental Championship will conclude tomorrow.
